Nvidia and Apple are said to be in discussions to join OpenAI's next fundraising round, which could place a valuation of $100 billion on the creator of ChatGPT.

Besides, Nvidia and Apple, Thrive Capital is also likely to lead the round if it materialises.

Nvidia's involvement was initially reported by Bloomberg, while The Wall Street Journal revealed Apple's potential interest.

Microsoft, which already owns a 49% stake in OpenAI, may also join the round.

Despite generating over $3.4 billion in annual revenue earlier this year, OpenAI is expected to incur a $5 billion loss by the end of the year due to its ongoing expansion in AI training and staffing.

OpenAI has existing partnerships with both companies, using Nvidia GPUs to train its AI models and working with Apple to integrate ChatGPT into iOS as part of Apple's upcoming AI features.
